I don't know many girls/women in the Heavy-Metal genre that today can say having a 30-years long career - from her early days with WARLOCK to this brand new release, nothing less than 16 studio-albums, some live-ones & a pile of EPs, various compilations.. in the name of Heavy-Metal ! The LADY deserves RESPECT !
Today AFM releases that new compilation called "Under My Skin" that, as the title says, is a fine selection of Doro Classics..... And from the loooooong track-list (yes it is a 2 CD-release) including 32 songs (+ 3 videos), one gets impressed by all the "hits" the Metal Queen gave birth to so far ! "All We Are" (Version 2007) opens the celebration - guess one couldn't find better song to start with ! Then it is an avalanche of her greatest hits : "You're My family", "I Rule The Ruins" (Orchestral version), "Celebrate", "Night Of The Warlock", Warrior Soul", "Let Love Rain On Me", "Für Immer", the amazing "Herzblut" (damn how I love the german lyrics here !), "Metal Tango"... and much more including the surprising accoustic/orchestral version of "Breaking The Law" (originally performed by Judas Priest)... Not a song to throw in the thrash can, everything here perfectly sum-up the long career of the Lady from Düsseldorf and this is something I really recommend to all people that would love to know more on this great artist, it can't be better example ! It goes from really hard-rocking songs to more emotional ones with DORO's particular  beautiful voice (yes, I sometimes can't be really objective - I know that !).
However, I wonder what a real die-hard fan could find interesting in pruchasing this release.. A real die-hard fan will for sure know all the songs there... as well as the videos included... maybe that booklet including exclusive hand-written liner notes for all tracks by Doro herself & a lot of never seen before pictures taken from Doro's private archive... ? This could be that little "plus" for them, well .. ok ! That's really the only bad thing I found to say about this release, which can also be repeated for most of all "best-of" albums I assume.. nothing against that one in particular... Btw, I'd finish saying this is a superb release paying tribute in the best possible way to the Metal Queen DORO ! Long Live The Queen !
