Trollzorn Records/Underclass Release : 4the july 2008 Tracklist « Wiedergang »: Halja Nu distel, Nu dorn Irrlichet Altsommer Die Erde Birgt Den Tod… Wiedergänger Perchta Auf Nagelfars Deck Herbst Winter “Wiedergang” is the second album of the German pagan/black metal group Helfahrt. The vocals are in German and the lyrics of the 10 tracks are about nature. The all of it is rather cold and dark with fast rhythmics. The musicians have a certain technique especially on the guitars level. The group, besides the “metal” instruments, uses folk instruments such as the flute or the harp. The tracks are relatively well varied with changing in rhythmic, going from very fast and powerful to very delicate, much more slower and full of feeling like in « Winter », very certainly the most beautiful track of the album. I find the vocals particularly monotonous, very little varied. The album begins with « Halja » which is used as an intro, atmospheric and dark with flutes and horns, at the symphonic limits towards the end, makes us enter into the Helfahrt’s world. But it is with « Nu Distel, Nu Dorn » that we really enter into the subject. All through this album, because of the different tracks we approached nature with the annual seasons. « Altsommer » is a superb track at acoustic guitars as « Winter » is a track with guitars and piano, track all in feelings. A great work has been done especially on the guitars playing especially in the tracks « Wiedergänger », « Perchta » and « Herbst » where they are very varied with sometimes technique passages. The rhythmic section is fast and powerful and the bass can easily be heard. An album to discover for its variety.
