Well although this band started 6 years ago under the name ANIMA, I admit it is the very first time I hear from them with their debut 6-song EP called "Last Day Of The Earth". Musically, LUNOCODE can be described as a power/progressive Heavy-Metal band taking influences from bands like Angra, Dream Theater, Stratovarius and Nightwish. They really have good songs, well-structured, well-combined with many interesting arrangements and I admit, I had a good time listening to those 6 songs ! Vocally speaking, this is a female singer (Cecilia Menghi) and I'm glad to see - considering the musical style - she doesn't sing like all those "wanna-be-opera-singers" chicks ! No, Daphne Romano has a powerful voice and knows how to keep the right balance between power & melody... I can't say this is an outstanding release but all the songs are very honest & right-in-the-style and if you like the prog/power-metal stuff, I'm sure this will please you... I'm also sure with time & experience, the band will gain more & more in quality & musical personality in the future, the musical skills are really good, no doubt the band will improve with time and will have a bright future and we should hear from them again !
