ENOCHIAN THEORY are hailing from England and play a kinda progressive Metal style that is in my opinion really interesting 'cos different from most of the progressive bands I've been reviewing so far... I assume it goes beyond the "simple" progressive band, as we can see it usually (you know, lotsa keys, lotsa of technical skills way too much demonstrative) 'cos they really enrich their music with TONS of various influences & sounds from bands like 70's rock ones like The PINK FLOYD, GENESIS, RUSH, heavier & much more aggressive ones close to Metalcore (Listen to "The Fire Around The Lotus" - the combination of styles is simply impressive !), of course also from bands like PORCUPINE TREE, ANATHEMA but I also feel a real SIEGES EVEN touch here (another way too-much underestimated progressive band !) in the melody & vocal lines... Also, you can find many more symphonic touches with violin throughtout the songs... In the end, the atmospheres are really tormented & oppressive... That's no "happy" progressive-metal here, the result sounds very pessimistic - actually it's all here about life and the radio-active mud we're in nowadays... but songs are beautiful, atmospheres are sad & grey but they stir with ease the emotions from the listener... I can't recommend enough this "Evolution : Creation Ex Nihilo" to all people into progressive & quality musics... but also to those who are not familiar with the style, ENOCHAIN THEORY are one of the best examples of progressive bands around !
