Lunarium is an American Celtic folk metal group and « Journeys Fables & Lore » is its first album. All through this album we travel through forests and other European countryside in medieval times, through history and Gaelic and Viking myths but also battles like in « Warcry » or « 1066 ».
The folk metal of the group is powerful, melodic and epic. The tracks are relatively varied because of the rhythmic and the styles all staying epic. Cinnead Loreweaver’s vocals are well at place, sometimes theatrical telling the story, very often warriors chorus, epic, accompany the refrains. The Celtic influences are very present in the songs.
At the end it is an album which is nice to listen and which should be listened for what it is : an epic Celtic folk metal album.
