Self-Prod 2011

A great surprise I got when I pushed the play button on this CD. This kind of records makes me wonder why there still are thousands of talented bands out there in the underground and really deserves to be signed. Very professional first album coming from León, Guanajuato (México) and itself is added to the list of progressive metal releasing names like Agora, Psicofonía, The Architect, Arge, Saga, Psiconecron, etc. Heavy metal in the vein of fine progressive acts with tons of orchestrations guided by the hand of Enrique Eskeda (Doomsday), an old known musician from that area. If we have to mention a principal influence it would be Dream Theater which is the dust every new prog metal band has to shake. And that’s the first impression when we hear Erick’s voice, and of course is clearest after the 14 mins of “Reunion”. The CD strikes with 11 very well balanced tracks, complex riffs suggesting an interesting short fiction story. Cool if you are into music among futuristic Sci fi stories or thoughtful and introspective characters. My favorite one of course is “Lunacy”, an epic power song full of guitar arrangements (good taste) and incredible high vocal performance. I know this band presented the CD at a Theatre with professional choral ensemble, and was an outstanding show. Hopefully something to happen to this talented band.
