Violet Tears is an Italian group and it has just released their second opus « Breeze Of solitude ». The style of the group is a mix of gothic and cold wave, the all of it extremely melancholic but also romantic. Romantic because of the presence of the piano but also because of the atmospheres. The tracks are ethereal, even the vocals are. Carmen De Rosas has a lyric voice, well at place, which poses perfectly on the tracks. However I find her vocals too monotonous, very little varied except in « Velvet Moon ». We will note male vocals in the track « Dimenticati » rather well done, it is even bad that it does not come more often. There is a good balance between the acoustic guitars and the electric ones, as well as the keyboards or the piano which are given beautiful melodic layers. However I find the drums too much synthetic, too much regular… but it is only programming…
The compositions have the benefit of good arrangements, relatively worked especially the track « Velvet Moon » which is for me the best track of this opus, with notably its changings in rhythmic but also its vocals variety.
It is a different album with feelings present in each of the songs.
