Steel Assassin is a group coming from the beginning of the 80s which has separated in 1985 to be formed again in 2005 with four of the five original members, only the singer John Falzone is not an “original” member and « War Of the Eights Saints » has been released in 2007.
It is a classic, traditional and powerful heavy metal album. The tracks are powerful, well rhythmed, and John Falzone’s vocals are also powerful, a mix of Bruce Dickinson and Dio. The tracks are much worked and very varied, all as powerful one another with a mix of fast, powerful songs and others more mid tempos. The riffs are heavy, powerful and melodic at the same times with very good soli, on the musical as well as on the technique levels, you’ll just have to listen (among others) the one of « Hill Of Crosses » to be convinced. The rhythmic section is heavy, powerful and efficient. The tracks are all successful but the one which can be taken out is « Sword In The Stone ». “War Of The Eights Saints” is an album which can please all the classic and powerful heavy metal fans.
