Temple Of Darkness Records re-releases “Dances From Left” from the Finnish group Mordicus. The album was released at the origin in 1993, to this are added bonus tracks coming from the 1991 demos but also the EP « Three Way Dissection ». The style of the group is death metal which had at the beginning grindcore influences, this one evolving towards thrash influences. The tracks are direct and powerful, even if I think that some tracks could be more of them with a better production. We have some parts played at acoustic guitars which could be used as instrumental interludes like for example in « Cybernetic Summer » or the entire instrumental track « Flames Beneath My Sleep ». « Oceans » is just simply a success with its changing in rhythmic. The tracks are punctuated with rather well done and efficient soli and the riffs are relatively lively with efficient and rather worked guitars playings. The vocals seem to be lacking of some power but they however stay efficient. The tracks are in general dark, even much dark.
It is an album that every death metal fan should possess.
