Lion Music re-releases the first rusty Cooley (Outworld) album, released at first in 2005. This re-release is remasterized with a new artwork and a bonus DVD including a Rusty guitar’s lesson of the track « Under The Influence » as well as the tab of this one. It is very certainly one of the most known shredders in 2008, especially in the metal world. Moreover he regularly writes reviews in guitars magazines such as Guitar World, Total guitar and Guitar Techniques. I forgot to tell that this album is entirely instrumental…
This album shows how much Rusty Cooley is an excellent guitar player, shredder, who has an excellent technique which is not to be shown. His influences are guitarists such as Yngwie Malmsteen, Randy Rhoads, Van Halen. The tracks are melodic, powerful and have progressive, complex arrangements not always accessible. Moreover some passages are very, even too much, technique sometimes to the detriment of the melody, however others are very melodic and much more accessible.
To discover if you like his work with Outworld but also if you like simply the guitars.
