Along the albums the thrashcore of the group The Haunted is confirmed and “Versus” the last opus of the group is not here to contradict us. I’m not a great fan of the kind of music but I’ll have to admit that the tracks are efficient, aggressive and it lids into you. The vocals are aggressive at wishes, screamed rather than sang (for me !!!) and the riffs are powerful and incisive.
The rhythmic section is powerful and relatively fast. The most melodic track of the album is very certainly « Trenches » with melodic riffs and a less aggressive singing and its excellent solo. The “Ceremony” intro is a little different because it sounds like a false departure of the song to begin very fastly. The following track “Skuld” is heavy, much slower and relatively atmospheric. Of course the album is not surprising in itself because it takes all the ingredients of the previous ones but it is an assertion of the work of the group.
It is an album with varied ambiences and atmospheres which should please the fans of the group but which I’m not sure to listen again.
