Lyr Drowning releases its first album with Manitou Records. The style of the French group is progressive death metal. It is a rich album where are mixed different styles : death, doom, heavy and progressive. The whole is much balanced with changing in rhythms and in styles all along the tracks of this album. The musicians control their instruments and have a certain technique. The ambiences are relatively dark. The keyboards passages are very melodic and the guitars are heavy, powerful with a non negligible melodic side. Each of the instruments has its place in the tracks even the bass guitars which knows to be powerful and heard. The tracks are groovy, with catchy riffs. The changing of rhythmics are well put bringing each time different ambiences, very often melancholic. The mix of the styles is coherent and gives relatively epic tracks and at the end Lyr Drowning gives us an excellent album, very worked. To listen and listen again without any restriction.
