Defenestration is a young group which releases with Rising Records “For us It Ends When We Drown”. The style of the group is a mix of punk/rock with clear vocals and growls. If I find the clear vocals are well at place even if I find them a little too monotonous and linear and tiring along the listenings, I appreciate much less the core side of the vocals. Musically, the tracks are relatively rock with a punk side rather marked, with well done guitars passages and a rather heavy rhythmic section but I find that the best tracks are in the first part of this short album. A certain work has been done on the guitars level even if we can feel that the vocals are put in front and seem to be the essential elements of the compositions.
Even if good things are present in this « For Us It Ends When We Drown » it has nothing exceptional and could go unnoticed unless you like the genre.
