This EP “A Rose May Fly…” is an foretaste of the album which should be released in 2009. the style of the group Crackmind is a mix of southern rock, rock’n’roll and heavy metal coming from the 80s. the four compositions are heavy and powerful in the riffs of the guitars with rather well done and well places soli like in « Golden wave ». Normann’s vocals are hoarse, relatively well at place, even if he sometimes miss of some little rightness (at least for me), but they go pretty well with the style of the group.
The melodies are relatively catchy, enough rock’n’roll, with an efficient rhythmic section and the guitars players are good with sharp, melodic riffs. The compositions are dynamic and relatively dark.
Of course it is a little to short but this EP is nice to listen and they are musicians who control their instruments.
This northern group is to discover if you like the style.
