Three years after having released “Origo” here come back the Swedish from Burst with their new album « Lazarus Bird ». The influences of the group are very wide and the style is a mix of extreme metal, progressive and alternative… with rather hardcore vocals but we also have some clear vocals parts. The capacity of creation is huge and coherent. It gives tracks with a unique and worked sound in such a manner that you’ll need several listenings to try to understand the musical nuances and to really enter in the compositions, not always very easily accessible. The tracks are intense and the guitars relatively technique. There are often changings in tempos and in rhythms all through the tracks bringing each time a different atmosphere and ambience. Nothing is let aside, all is calculated in the manner of everything being linked perfectly, whatever on the rhythm level, of the atmospheres, etc… with some rather atmospheric passages. The guitars playing are important, often melodic and powerful. The tracks have complex structures, always worked and have all a particular sound and entity. The vocals are relatively varied with core vocals, clear parts, screaming and even growls.
