Ivanhoe is a german progressive metal group which has released « Lifeline ». The tracks are powerful, heavy and relatively “sophisticated”, worked. Mischa Mang (Dreamscape) is an excellent vocalist who « carries » the songs. His voice is powerful, a little hoarse; he knows to play with his voice on an important vocals range. Even if Richard Seibel (also in Lanfears) keyboards play an important part in the ambiences and in the atmospheres of the tracks, the other instruments have their entire place. The tracks are rich in atmospheres with worked, searched melodies. It is a dynamic and powerful album as a whole. The musicians have a very good technique but know to keep a melodic side to the compositions.
An excellent album for all those who like progressive metal.
