Signum Regis is a Swedish group formed by the bass player Ronnie König which has released it self named album some months ago. The style of the group is a melodic and relatively epic metal in which is added neo classical elements and guitars playing very often based on shredding. The influences are coming from groups such as Yngwie Malmsteen, Impellitteri, Helloween, Rhapsody, Rainbow… We find at vocals Goran Edman (Yngwie Malmsteen/Glory/John Norum), ensuring perfectly his vocals parts with well at place, powerful, warm and relatively high pitched vocals, always melodic. Goran has a voice which goes pretty well with the style of the group bringing an adding melodic side. The tracks are melodic with an important melodic side and the refrains are lively with very often choirs. The compositions are good with a good balance between the instruments, all especially between the twin guitars and the keyboards which are giving good melodies. A huge work has been done on the instrumental lines level, especially on the guitars and keyboards levels. It is hard for me to take out one track rather than another one as I have appreciate the album as a whole on the vocals as well as on the instrumental level and it is with pleasure that I listen to it in my car… and I do not think that the melodic metal fans will be deceive with it even if it does not bring anything new to the genre, I can only recommend it to you.
