Visione Gotiche is an italian group which seems to be « specialise » in the soundtrack creation of horror short movies. « Il Segreto Del Demone Parte 1 » is the third album of the group. The tracks are a mix of atmospheric passages; dark with sometimes some declaim or sang lyrics (male and female) as in « La Casa Del Sogno » but also very well done piano or guitars passages. The influences of the group come from the electro rock/metal, dark, ambient and atmospheric. The group also adds a lot of samples and varied sounds to contribute to the atmospheres and to make darker the tracks. We also have very well done and well at place female vocals like in « L’Angelo Soffrente ». The tracks are very often mid tempos, even low tempos but some passages especially these where the electric guitars are present are heavier and more rhythmic. The keyboards are of courser very present in the compositions, sometimes accompanied by a piano like in « Ipnosi ». The compositions are well structured, giving well the atmospheres dark and cold sometimes rather in a « horror show » manner. It is the dark ambient, atmospheric side which stands out from this album even if like in « Nightmare » the metal side is here, given by the guitars riffs. I would have liked to have more passages like this one that is to say more metal passages, heavy and powerful … I don’t know if it is real drums but, for me, they have often the sound of a rhythm box.
I don’t know if this album will please you but at least, the group is able of creativity to make us discover the dark and cold side of the things … globally this « Il Segreto Del Demone Part 1 » has pleased me by its unusual and different side.
