Falchion is the other project from Juho Kauppinen, accordionist from the group Korpiklaani and “Chronicles Of The Dead is the second opus of the group. The style of the group is a melodic death metal with Viking/folk influences. A folk side is preset is each of the songs but the guitars and the vocals are more death metal. The work of the twin guitars is melodic and rather well done and this work can be heard especially in the instrumental « Desert Breeze » and « Mayhem Machine ». The tracks are relatively energetic and a little festive but I have the impression that the rhythmic look alike each other along the listenings.
It does still is a good album but nothing more.
