Diablo is a Finnish group which exists since 1995 and “Icaros” is the fifth album of the group. The style of the group is a melodic and powerful death metal with some progressive touches here and there. The guitars are heavy and efficient, the riffs melodic and worked and the rhythmic section is up to it. We find keyboards present on some tracks « Trail Of Kings » and « Light Of The End » which “fill” the melodies and give a certain ambience to these ones. Each of the tracks is powerful, on the vocals side as well as on the instrumental one with a somehow marked brutal side but which goes pretty well for me as there are melodies, musicality in the compositions. The group seems to have found a right balance between power, rhythm and melody. The tracks have sometimes complex and progressive structures and a huge work has been done on the composition side.
Diablo is a group to discover and “Icaros” an album to listen because it frankly is worth it.
