13 Bis Records/Replica Records Tracklist « The Immunity Zone » :
“The Immunity Zone” is the fourth album from the Swedish progressive metal group Andromeda and is following « Chimera” that I had really appreciated. The group mixes heavy, powerful and melodic parts to more atmospheric, mind-blowing parts. All through the tracks we have excellent quality soli, worth the greatest today guitarists like especially (long, very long) of « Veil Of Illumination ». Some passages are very technique and I ask even myself if it is not on the detriment of the melody, of the musicality of the tracks, rightly because a little too much technique … even demonstrative. Even if the album is globally well done, it is lacking to some tracks a little something like for example «Veil Of Illumination » which seems to bring you nowhere or « Slaves Of Plethora Season » with its keyboards relatively “dance”… However some tracks like « Another Step » are rather good with a kind of duel between the guitar and the keyboards. Vocally David Fremberg is well at place, modulating well his voice. Musically speaking, it seems that the group has hard time to renew itself, even if the riffs are efficient and the changing in rhythmics well done and the compositions worked and of excellent quality.
