Skindred has released its second album « Root Rock Riot ». The style of the group is what we could call new metal or fusion metal. The group allies the power of the metal riffs to reggae, raga and funk music. Some will appreciate others neatly less … but ones has to recognize that the mix is done with coherence and that the group does some creativity. The guitars are perfectly married to the machines and Benji’s vocals are efficient, well at place and comfort this reggae aspect. The tracks are melodic and worked, relatively lively and the rhythmic alternate very often the ones of reggae and metal. If you liked all that is different musically speaking « Root Rock Riot » has everything to please you but if you are looking to something « typically » metal it won’t be your thing.

Line up :
Benji Webbe (chant) (vocals)
Mikeydemus (guitare) (guitars)
Dan (basse/machines) (bass/machines)
Arya G. (batterie) (drums)
