AFM Records Release : november 14th 2008 Tracklist “Two tragedy Poets And A Caravan Of Weird Figures” : The Caravan of Weird Figures Another Awful Hobs Tale From Blood To Stone Ask A Silly Question She Lives At Dawn The Winter Wake (Acoustic Version) Heaven Is A Place On Earth My Own Spider's Web Not My Final Song The Blackest of My Hearts The Wanderer (Acoustic Version) (Digipack Bonus) Miss Conception My Little Moon
Here is the last album in date of the italians Elvenking. « Two Tragedy Poets … And A Caravan Of Weird Figures » is an entire acoustic album. I just wanted to “kick up a stink”, it is not really easy to appreciate an album and review it when you have “voice over” all the time repeating “you’re listening to the last promotional album …”, it is tiring … The tracks are filk and as a whole, festive. We have two rerecording « The Winter Wake » and « The Wanderer » more one cover « Heaven Is A Place On Earth » interpreted at first by Belinda Carlisle (The Misfits) and the rest of the album, are new compositions. The acoustic guitars is very present, but we also find a little electric guitars, the violin is also very present but we have flute and keyboards/piano. The compositions are simple and lively. Damnagoras has a melodic voice, well at place, right but I do think that sometimes he does too much… It is an album nice to listen but which do not mark more than that. Line up : Damnagoras (chant) (vocals) Aydan (guitare/backing vocals) (guitars/backing vocals) Gorlan (basse) (bass) Elyghen (violon/claviers) (violin/keyboards) Zneder (batterie) (drums) Contacts : http://www.myspace.com/elvenking http://www.elvenking.net/
