It Bites is a progressive rock group which has released “The Tall Ships”. It is a group which has known glory in the 80s and which has just reformed 20 years later. The tracks are melodic and groovy at wishes on the musical and the vocals levels. John Mitchell (Arena) has a superb voice, melodic and well at place. Some tracks make think to groups such as Yes, Saga, Asia even Toto. Musically, it is pleasant to listen; the tracks are pleasant and linked perfectly one another but some tracks really sound rock FM. It is clear that the musicians know their thing and their instruments. The guitars riffs are full of emotion and feeling. The keyboards are giving nice background melodies. The tracks are very often mid tempos expect « Memory Of Water », more rhythmic. The last track « This Is England » is 13 minute long and really sounds 70s. At the end it is an album of a great quality with successful compositions.
An album that I recommend to all the fans of the named groups and to the fans of the group itself.

Line up :
John Mitchell(chant/guitare)(vocalsguitars)
John Beck (claviers/backing vocals) (keyboards/backing vocals)
