“Tinnitus Sanctusis the last album from d’Edguy. Besides the releases of the albums of Avantasia, Tobias Sammet had time to make an album with his friends of Edguy. This album shows once more that the group takes a musical turn, letting little by little heavy metal to go to a rock and hard rock. The tracks are lively, melodic and groovy. The track « Sex Fire Religion » really sounds hard FM with a very present chorus in the refrain. The guitars are very rock’n’roll, give good melodies and excellent soli. Some tracks are fast such as « The Pride Of Creation » but the great majority of them have low tempos. « Speedhoven» is a track where the keyboards are very, very present. We have the ballade « Thorn Without A Rose » which is melodic but certainly not the best one from Edguy.
It is an album which is easy listening but which has nothing exceptional.
