The first thing to say on Angband is that it is coming from Iran which is uncommon. The group has released with Pure Steel Records its first album « Rising Form Apadana ». The style is a mix of heavy/power metal, the whole traditional. Some of you probably know one of the members, Mayhar Dean as he is the official writer of the Death and Testament biographies. Without being a bad album, it is not what I would call an excellent album, it misses a little something to the compositions to be catchy and however some instrumental parts, especially at guitars are very well done. The sound as well is not always perfect especially on the mix of voice/instruments.
Vocally Ashkan has a lot of possibilities but does not seem always to be at phase with the tracks.
Even if there are imperfections on this album, it does still is an album to discover because you might like it.

Line up :
Ashkan Yazdani (chant) (vocals)
Mahyar Dean (guitare/basse) (guitars/bass)
Rami Rahimi (batterie) (drums)
