Theocracy is a young American Christian metal group and « Mirrors Of Souls » is the second opus of the group. The style of the group, the base of Theocracy is the masterpiece of Matt Smith, is a melodic power metal. No doubt that it is Christian metal when you’re listening to the lyrics of the songs through which Matt wants to give his messages, as the lyrics are rich of messages. Vocally it is excellent, Matt Smith has an excellent, powerful, melodic voice, with a very wide vocals range, and moreover he is often support in the refrains with choirs for more power. Musically it is also excellent; the tracks have worked arrangements with some progressive elements, very present choruses, and the whole of it giving epic songs. The melodies are well done, epic and relatively lively. The compositions are also good vocally and musically speaking. it is a successful album, powerful, worked and it is hard for me to take out one track rather than another one because frankly I like this « Mirrors Of Souls », I like these melodies and this power which comes out of the vocals and the music. A track can finally be taken out of the album; it is the last one « Mirror Of souls » which is more than 22 minute length, progressive at wishes with changing in rhythmic and in ambiences. Moreover the album has the benefit of an excellent production.
It is an album that I can just recommend you !!!
