Urskumug is a pagan tribal black metal group which comes from Latonia. « Am Nodr » contains eight relatively long titles and it is the second album of Urskumug. The group for this album does not uses “real” drums but a rhythm box and this give to the track a “martial” side, it is too bad because I think that the compositions would sound more “true”. The keyboards are very present and bring atmospheric ambiences. The whole of the compositions seem to me a little too much monotonous because too often based on the same rhythmic, moreover the vocals aren’t much varied neither. The guitars are very fast and some passages are technique. The general theme of this album is Shamanism and Times and the shadows, and the lyrics are dealing with Nature in general. The melodies are dark especially the one of « Time Of The Jackdaw ».
Urskumug is a group to discover if you like this metal style.
