The German group Coronatus has released its new album «Porta Obscura ». Two vocalists are sharing the vocals : one lyrical one, soprano to be precise, and a melodic clear vocals. The two voices are making a good duo and are completed themselves rather well. The guitars are well heavy and powerful, the symphonic arrangements well done and of good quality and the rhythmic section is efficient. The tracks stay of a classic conception, without surprise, it is maybe there the problem, all seem to be formatted, and is lacking of novelty. Of course the public will be wide, as the album will please and the gothic fans and the symphonic metal fans, but … the group should take some musical risks !!!
So a good album but in no way original.
