Kreator has released its last album “Hordes Of Chaos” mid January 2009. The style of the group is still an efficient and well at place thrash metal. From the first track « Hordes Of Chaos », the group sends us the big sound with an infernal rhythm. The rhythmic are in great majority fast but we have the track « Amok Run » which slow down a little the rythm with an intro with just guitars duo and Mille Petrozza’s voice rather in the low pitched notes, but Kreator catches itself to offer us a track which goes into intensity and rapidity !!! Much misleading this intro ! The riffs of the guitars are fast, efficient and powerful with playing in harmony, in double tone, which alternates very fast passages, breaks and slower passages. The rhythmic section is heavy, powerful and efficient. In the flood on rapidity, heaviness and.. . chaos, we have a time of respite with a musical interlude « Corpses Of Liberty » with a guitars playing on two tones, full of delicacy and melody to end beautifully with « Demon Prince ». The musicians are perfectly controlling their instruments and the vocalist is well at place and all efficient in his vocals. My favourite tracks on this album, besides the musical interlude, are « Hordes Of Chaos » and« Demon Prince ». I like the guitars playing in harmony or on two tones, this bring an undeniable melodic side and reinforce the compositions.
Kreator with this new album gives us well structured, efficient and dynamic compositions with which you’ll have no time to get bored !
