History (bonus track)

Waterland is a Portuguese group born from the initiative of the guitarist Bruno Gomes and « Waterland » is the first opus of the group. If you are allergic to everything that is melodic, extremely melodic this “Waterland” is not for you !!! On the contrary if you like melodic metal you will appreciate this album. The 15 tracks are as melodic one another. The whole could be approach to Freedom Call, Powerquest etc… if the tracks are well conceived with good catchy melodic, rather well placed soli, I do think that the titles are lacking of some power, maybe is it due to the production which does not give the tracks powerful. I also think that the bringing of a second guitar would bring more power to the compositions. On the vocals level, there is nothing to say, the vocalists are excellent in their style, melodic at wishes and right. Moreover the voices are very often doubled in the refrains. It is hard to take out one track rather than another one but « Shinning World » and « The Kingdom » are the ones I appreciate the most in the album.
To discover if you like melodic metal.
