If you are fans of « classic » and melodic metal, you won’t be deceived by « The Power Of One » the album from the American group Ninth Circle. The album begins with a « Frontman » with very present melodic choirs, superb vocals line for this song. The themes of the songs are all dealing with war, battles, etc… And the Iron Maiden’s cover « The Trooper » is all at its place, moreover it is excellent !!! The musicians are excellent and control their instruments and Dennis Brown ensures with brio his vocals parts with a melodic, warm, rather in the high pitched notes voice. The tracks have melodic lines and the guitars give harmonic riffs and the soli are well done and well places especially the one in « Frontman » and in « The Power Of One ». « The Journey » has an intro with atmospheric keyboards. The tracks have a solid and well at place rhythmic section. My favourite tracks are « Frontman », « Our Last Days » and « Fire Falling » and of course the cover « The Trooper » that I find excellent. Besides the intro of “Hour 21” makes me think to Iron Maiden with its guitars harmony. The compositions are well constructed and all have worked and excellent soli.
Ninth Circle is a group which takes its influences in groups such as Dokken, Queensryche, Iron Maiden… to discover if you like classic metal.
