Mysia is an Italian death metal group which has released last year a demo « No Backwards ». The tracks are at the same times violent, direct and melodic at least in the music. Vocally it is aggressive, it is sure, but I find the death vocals not much varied, very often on the same tone, but we also have some clear vocals in « Red Tears » rather well at place. A certain work on the melodies level has been done and we sometimes have the feeling that the group takes its influences in the 70s with passages that we could qualify of progressive. The compositions have sometimes complex structures with changing in rhythms but also in ambiences and atmospheres. We have guests such as Betty Fazio who brings some female vocals or Alex from Putrid Carnage for the backing vocals and Carlo Strappa from Resurrecturis for the guitar on the track « Cera Vuota ».
We have here a group which has a certain creative potential, especially on the musical level and I think that it will be confirm along the albums.
