After several demos, Spirit has released some months ago its first album « Effacer Qui Je Suis ». It is a concept album which deals with a man who only knows problems. The album is a mix of heavy, thrash and rock and the texts are in French. If musically there is nothing to say, the musicians are well at place, the riffs are efficient, direct with excellent soli especially in « Relations Obscures » or « Solitude », the rhythmic section is rather efficient, I do find that the vocals are too much aggressive, too much screaming and are sometimes lacking of rightness. All being relatively well construct compositions, they have nothing exceptional and I find that there is something missing to be catch by them totally, at least for me. It is for me an album hard to take out of the lot of the releases of the style. I think that Spirit has a certain musical potential and talented musicians especially the guitarists. To follow …
