Decrepitus is a Norwegian group founded in 2003 by AC (Guitars) and “Break The Code” is the album that it has released in 2008. The death metal of the group is brutal; raw with rhythmic variations and the guitars playing is relatively worked. This album has six tracks and the first one « Where The Ravens Fly » could be used as an intro. It is a track at acoustic guitars with sounds and samples as well as voices. The compositions are rather in mid tempos with heavy and powerful, sometimes distorted riffs. The vocals are relatively placed in the low tones even much low notes. We can feel in the music that all the members are coming from black metal groups at the base. The compositions are well done, with good guitars playing which give them attractive because all being mid tempos they are energetic.
I do think that the group has a real creative potential and that other opus will follow this one.
