Whispersaw is a french group which has released its demo “Lost Dark Ages”. The Whispersaw’s style is a mix of black/death metal with symphonic and electro influences. The compositions are worked on the melodies level, especially the ones of the keyboards which are rich and varied. Yet the keyboards are very present, whatever under the form of keyboards with symphonic arrangements or much more electro arrangement or just simply under the form of piano. The guitars are also melodic, the guitars playing are worked and the soli are good like the one of « Last Breath ». the vocals are varied, well at place, with clear vocals and others more black /death metal but I do not find them very powerful, I think that it is due to the mix and the production because I think that the tracks are also lacking of powerful, especially on the level of the rhythmic section and the guitars could also be more powerful. The guitars and the keyboards give sometimes passages where the instruments play in harmony. At the end the compositions are quality ones and the group possess a real creative potential but needs more power to make them more efficient. To follow …
