M &O Music/M & O Office 2009
Aeterna Hystoria is a progressive French metal group which has released their first album “Legends of Ausphaal” last year. The metal of the band has several influences with symphonic parts, folk parts, uses real folk instruments as well as violin, keyboards but you’ll also find pure metal parts followed with progressive ones. The album begins with a female narrative part followed with an instrumental part with guitars and violin. If there’s some technique, the tracks are very accessible. The violin is much present in the songs and give nice and beautiful melodies with the piano. The songs are rather melancholic as a whole and rather mid tempo and epic. Most of the vocals are done by the female vocalist but you will find also some little growl parts. Most of the tracks are rick musically speaking. The album ends with the “Epilogue : A New Beginning” in a acoustic manner. Aeterna Hystoria gives us here a good album which lets see good perspectives for the future of the group …so to follow.
