26 is the group created by the guitarist Andy Kodiwein, former guitarist of the group Illegal Aliens and “Solipsissimus” is born from this project. The style of the group is a progressive rock. For this album Andy has himself ensured the guitars and bass parts, as well that he has mixed and produced himself this album. We find Joe Valdarno at vocals and Marco Minnemann at drums (Illegal Aliens). The compositions all having a melodic side are not for me very catchy, not that they difficult to understand, they are just simply missing of a little something to make them attractive. I find Joe’s vocals a little too much monotonous at listening, kind of irritated me …however he sings right but, I have the feeling that he is missing of conviction in his vocals. The guitars lines are relatively worked with sometimes complex and here it is the same some passages aren’t catchy… I also find that as a whole the songs aren’t very varied, too many mid temps, « Sliderocks » are very certainly the rapid one. Now all is question of appreciation, some progressive rock fans will appreciate it at its true value, others less.
