“Machiavelli’s Art” is the first album from the Italian group Soundstrike. The style of the group is a mix of neo metal and crossover. The sound is very modern and has little chance to please the “classical” heavy metal fans … the guitars will sound too modern for them. The guitars are powerful, heavy and incisive and the bass is relatively well present. I do not particularly appreciate Francesco’s vocals that I find sometimes a little too much approximate even if they go well with the style of the tracks. The group through the lyrics of the songs to not hesitate to criticise today’s societies at different levels. I think that the track which can be taken out of this album is "The Best Way To Kill". The musicians have a certain technique and control their instruments. The tracks even if they are well done, are not exceptional but will please certainly the fans of the genre.
