Well this album is now out for quite a long time (2006), but it kicked so much my ass that it was of my duty to write some lines about it, especially when this band, coming from Japan, doesn’t seem to have received a lot of support from the press of our country… So, here’s their first album, released through Majestic Rock, after they had released an EP called “Welcome To The Metal Zone”. The band style is definitely rooted in the old-school Heavy-Metal, taking influences from the 80’s, like their artwork that really makes think of RUNNING WILD (“Gates To Purgatory” and EXCITER (“Heavy Metal Maniacs”). Of course, people looking for new refreshing & original stuff can look further, on the other hand, those looking for true & authentic heavy-metal bands will find there their “precious” with this “Tokyo Flying V Massacre” ! Musically speaking, one can think of bands like ACID, ACCEPT, WASP, early IRON MAIDEN (listen to that awesome break in “Welcome To The Metal Zone” !!!) and of course EXCITER that also really influenced the vocal style ! High-pitched & scorched ones like Dan BEEHLER did ! Expect a real Heavy-Metal tidal-wave, like one could find in the glorious 80’s, same sound, same spirit, with many clichés of the genre, but not too much to avoid the copycat syndrome. A very efficient record that will make you band your head ‘till you break your neck ! “Heavy Metal Is The Law” ? Yeah, it has never been so true with HELLHOUND !!!
