Red Rivet Records 2009
Coming from Spain Quelonio has released last year its second album “Vico Y Virtud”. The lyrics are in Spanish and the fact of singing in Spanish does not change anything to the songs. The style of the group is a mix between rock and heavy metal. The riffs are strong and efficient as well as the rhythmic section. The soli are well done and rather well placed (Juego De Miradas). Nothing really new in this cd. The songs are classic. The new vocalist, Teresa Broseta, has a strong and well placed voice which perfectly goes with the style of Quelonio. If the tracks are as a whole rather well done, it sometimes misses sometimes to make them good songs, it is an album that you listen but that you might forget as soon… and it is too bad because the group has a certain potential especially on the guitars level. One of the best songs with “Juego De Miradas” is Aqui Estoy”. Let’s see what the group will be able to do in the next future.
