Autoproduction/Underclass 12/2009
"Child In A Box" is the first album of the French group Flown. From the first track “”Child In A Box” Part I to the last one “Child In A Box” Part 2, you can see that the two musicians control perfectly their instruments and their music but also the compositions of the songs, the arrangements, the mixing etc… The songs can be intense with a lot of feelings The style of the group is a rock/post rock with a grunge influence. “Child In A Box” is a good balance, a good compromise between ballads, harder songs, more aggressive and faster ones, dark ones. Vocally speaking the singer is at his place in each of the songs. Their musical inspiration is very large so the public which could be interested by this skud may come from different universes. The tracks are well linked together, the album is long (15 tracks) and you have the feeling of having a concept album in your hand, maybe it is one besides? I can say that this first CD is a success and I hope that the albums to come will be at least as good as this one. At the end you have nice and varied melodies, pleasant vocals to listen.
