"Distant Encounters” is an album where you’ll find a good mix between a good 80s melodic rock/hard rock and AOR with a pitch of metal in the guitars. The melodies are catchy on the guitars lines but also on the keyboards when they present and moreover they are often epic. The songs are lively and pleasant to listen. The album of the Swedish group Optimystical is for me a good compromise between the different styles, always melodic with refrain which stay well in head. Vocally speaking Ronnie Hagstedt is rather good, as he sang on most of the songs, the other two songs are sung by Jonas Blum.
The nostalgic of the 80s will appreciate it.
