Pervade Production/Manitou Music 03/2010
"The Choice" is the first album from the french group Black Horizon. The group plays a traditional metal with good and efficient and inspired compositions even if you won’t find anything new in them. The vocalist’s voice is perfect with the style and the songs of the group. We can say without any doubt that the influences of the group are coming from groups such as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Queensrÿche or Helloween, among others. “The Choice” contains 11 different songs and is well balance. The album has the benefit of a good production which gives back well each instrument as well as the vocalist. The guitars give good riffs, with catchy refrains and the soli they give are rather well done and they are besides, supported by an important rhythmic section especially with a well present bass. To finish this review I would say that this first album let presage good things for the future of the group.
