"No War & More" from the Austrian group Mortician is a re-edition of the EP “No War” released in 1987 with their 1987 and 1989 demos, to this you add a live version of “No War”.
The group has been created by Thomas Metzler and Roland Konzett, both guitarists around 1983. The style of the group is speed heavy metal. After some line up changing the group separates then comes back and records their first demo and makes a lot of concerts. Some more line up changing again, the group records the second demo. The group which cannot find a label loose its motivation and separate once more. More than 20 years later the group reforms itself. The line up is now Thomas and Patrick at guitars, at the bass Andreas Peter and Daniel Khan at vocals. So this album is the compositions that have been released before that is to say heavy metal from the 80s of course! The songs are full of catchy riffs, catchy melodies, catchy refrains which well in head. The soli are well done and the vocals are rather high pitched ones. I don’t know if the tracks have been re-recorded for this occasion or not but the sound is not perfect.
If you like this style it is an album which should please you. A group to discover or to discover again for those who knew it at that time.
