Pure Steel Records 2009
Hjallarhorn is a Norwegian metal group. The music of the group is influence by the classic 70s hard rock/metal and the 80s classic metal. Even if they were formed in 1993 “Iron Clad Soldiers” is its first album, the group had just released three demos before this album. You won’t find anything new in this album, the influences are clearly written. Personally I don’t like the vocalist voice, I find it too much aggressive and it seems to me that he doesn’t sing much right. The musicians are good ones and they control perfectly their instruments. The compositions are well done as a whole because you have electric guitars parts which are followed with acoustic guitar interlude. I cannot say that it is a bad album but it is an album that I do not appreciate. My impression for this “Iron Clad Soldiers” is that it is an album to forget…
