Affliction Gate is a French group who plays old-school death metal. “Aeon Of Nox (From Darkness Comes Liberation)" won’t give you anything new neither original but it’ll please the fans nostalgic of the 80s, of groups such as Grave, Agressor, Bolt thrower, Unleashed, etc. the guitarist send a lot of sound through his guitar and the rhythmic section is powerful. Even if it is not the kind of music I listen the most, it is an album to discover for all those who like the style. The compositions are mature as a whole. The production is rather good as we can hear all the instruments as well as the voice which is aggressive enough. To make it short it is a solid album that the old school fans should appreciate.
