AKENTRA "IV.IV.IV" CD

The French gothic metal group Akentra has released last year their first EP « IV.IV.IV ». This EP is excellent, with five melodic and atmospheric songs. The rhythmic section is powerful with a well present bass and drums which are well doing their job. The keyboards are melancholic especially on the third song “Alone”. “Just Close Your Eyes” is the liveliest song of this EP. The guitars are well heavy and melodic at the same time and the soli are nice and well placed. Lucia, the vocalist is just at her place and her voice is well coming on the songs.
The melodies and the harmonies are well done and I hope that the forthcoming will be as good as this EP. Akentra is a group which has a real creative potential, so we’ll wait and follow the group.
