ION "Immaculada" CD

Equilibrium Music
06 - 2010

Some of you might know Duncan Patterson for being Anathema’s bass player between 1991 to 1998. Duncan Patterson comes back this year with his new album “Immaculada” which is following the path of the first one “Madre Potregenos”. All through this album you’ll find eight ballads which were inspired by travels between Ireland and Greece, the coldness or the freshness of the north to the warmth of the south. Even if Duncan is a multi instrumentalist mandolin, guitars, bass, piano, keyboards, and percussion), several guests are invited to participate to the compositions: female vocalists in English or Spanish and musicians. He has chosen to use most of the time acoustic instruments instead of “metal” instruments.
The compositions show a lot of creativity even if the tracks are all ballads because they all are full of feeling. A nice trip with varied sounds and ambiences and feelings.
A nice album to listen and to appreciate.
