After three years of silence, Apocalyptica comes back with its album « 7th Symphony », besides it is its 7th album... The album is a good album between classic and heavy metal music. You will find four vocalists each of them having its own identity. First of all Gavin Rossdale from the group Bush on the title “End Of Me”, which has an easy access. Then you’ll find Brent Smith in “Strong Enough”. In “Broken Peaces”,Lacey, from the group Flyleaf is the only female vocalist of the album and finally, and in “Bring Them To Light” Joseph Duplantier from the French group Gojira. It is sure that the cellists are controlling their instruments without problem.
The album begins with a powerful instrumental track “At The Gates Of Manala” with a great string section as well as a distorted rhythmic section. Dave Lombardo, from Slayer, makes an appearance as a guest drummer on “2010”. The songs are powerful and mostly dark with a very metal sound even if the classic side is still there. I don’t know what you’ll think of this album but I find it as an average.
